We begin our lives completely connected to self, the infant, feeling, hearing, seeing, connected to all of its emotions (not knowing what they are and the natural ones, not those created and expanded by the human mind). Connected to self and completely present in every moment. Connected to all that is because it knows no different.
As the infant grows curiosity expands, the experience of the infant’s consciousness becomes ever present as it actively becomes aware of its experiences. Consciousness is expanding. Seeing, touching, hearing, exploring each of these and being completely present in these moments. Emotions expanding and the expression of these explored, a test and adjustment process and most of all deep feeling.
This continues until these experiences; the growth of consciousness begins to be constrained and directed by the infant’s carers. Emotions are labelled, behaviour and curiosity are directed by which way the carers perceive to be right or wrong and this continues and is influenced by society. The child’s curiosity is limited to a child pen or toddler safe zone that is immaculately cleaned and non-stimulating (this is just an example, there are many more). Hard rules and boundaries are set in place and this continues into childcare and school. Boundaries of society are forced upon a now five-year-old as they step into the schoolyard where a whole new level of suppression is dictated.
The infant, child, teenager, young adult is now no longer present within themselves, they have been programmed by the environment in which they have been brought up in. They have lost touch with their creative ever-expanding consciousness as it has been squished into a box. This box may open in the future but it may also never open.
We as adults are currently questioning this society structure. We are looking to reconnect with ourselves, the infant that was completely present in the moment, connected to everything. Do we wish to continue to raise our children to be disconnected with what really matters? Do we want them to experience what we are experiencing right now or can they learn from your disconnectedness? Levels of burnout, fatigue and mental health issues have never been higher in our communities and this is worldwide.
Spirituality should be the first place we look to discover who we are, to discover our emotions and to place our own labels upon them, not societies or the experiences of others. Even more so it should be lived, naturally part of your life and daily functioning just like brushing your teeth.
If you want to make a difference in this world, your family, in your business and most of all to ourselves then we need to know who we are and to be present within our lives.
So many people do not know who they are, I’m talking deep down. Stop right now, you have ten seconds to name five things that bring you joy, deep heartfelt joy not just a laugh watching a funny movie. Could you do it? Congratulations if you got two or more things but I’m sure most of you struggled. Think about how different your life could be if you actually lived it, doing more of the things that give you joy. Think about how different your families and friends’ lives would be if you shared this joy with them and them with you.
It is time to wake up and remove the boundaries of exploration, expression, creativity not just for our children but for ourselves for the future of humanity, for the future of you. Change and breakdown the constructs of society, not to create a lawless society where everybody does whatever they want with nil respect for others. But a society that embraces change, connectedness and comes from a greater awareness and level of consciousness.
Begin this path of discovery. Connect with you, be the real you not the one created by your upbringing, not the one moulded by society to fit in instead of standing out. You are not here to hide in the shadows and it is time to show the younger generations to come that they can be their awakened conscious selves also.
